What Is The Treatment For Rapid Heart Rate?

Hi, all this past week, I have noticed at different intervals during the day, that my heart was really racing. It is a very weird sensation, it feels like butterflies in my chest and sometimes even feels like my heart wants to come out of my throat. The feeling makes me cough a little to kind of re-catch my breath. What does this mean and what should I do ?

Hello there. Its definitely abnormal. Change in heart rate without any particular stimulus needs evaluation. You will need a holter monitoring. Please visit your physician to discuss details. It will be good to check your thyroid function, electrolytes and hemoglobin as well. Take care.
