What Is The Treatment For Rapid Heart Beat And Chest Pain?
Hi my dr had me wear a holter monitor for 24 hours and she said that my heart rate went up to 156 and 11 times it beat 2 times then missed a beat and then several times it beat 3 times then missed a beat. What does all of this mean? i have been having chest pain, heart palpatations, dizzy and light headedness, and have passed out a couple times.
All these variable beats are termed as palpitations. Your holter finding is suggestive of structural or functional abnormality of the heart, which causes arising from an objectively rapid or irregular heartbeat. I would suggest you to go for a treadmill test and 2 d echo cardiogram to rule out ischemia to heart as ischemia to heart is a important cause of palpitations. They are the base line tests to rule out whats wrong with the heart. However electro physiological studies can also be done to rule out any aberrant pathway.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
