What Is The Treatment For Pulmonary Tuberculosis?

Hi Doc my husband had chest X- ray and result shown that there is hazy infiltrates on the right upper lobe of the lung and Suggested Pulmonary Tuberculosis. We were shock as he seem physically fit and no signs of cough or illness. He just had his Xray done a year ago and it's normal. Do you think that there is a possibility of false Positive result? He doesn't smoke either thank you

Hello
Your doubt about pulmonary tuberculosis ( FALSE POSITIVE ) may be right . But infiltration that too in upper lobe is an indication of pulmonary tuberculosis .
So get in other tests for your confirmation .
==Physical as well clinical examination by a 'CHEST & TUBERCULOSIS "specialist.
==Sputum T B culture and sensitivity test.
==Bronchoscopy , consider in high risk cases who are unable to produce sputum or by induction.
==Polymerase chain reaction test in lab.
==Tuberculin skin test .
These are few diagnostic tests for accurate diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis .Get in one more XRAY chest also.
Hope this information will help you.
