What Is The Treatment For Poison Oak Rash?

My son has a bad poison oak rash that has been swelling. I ve treated with Benadryl bot topically and internally, and have been giving him ibuprofen for the swelling. As of this morning it is finally is finally beginning to recede and swelling is down. However, some of the affected area has turned purple. He s has poison oak reactions before....but never purple. ???

You can continue with the medicines you are giving him.
Purplish colour can occur during resolving phase in some individuals.
