What Is The Treatment For Painful Hard Boils And Diabetic?

I am 42, diabetic (borderline according to doctor)(new diagnosis of diabetes). I keep getting boils. I now have one of my chest that is larger than a silver dollar. It is painful, almost purple, very very deep and hard. It has been there for about two weeks and has not come to a head. It is getting more and more painful. I had one on my neck about a year ago and surgery was required which left a horrible scar on the back of my neck, so I am hesitant to go back. I m afraid, however, that in getting bigger, it might need some medical attention. Thoughts?

HI
Thanks for posting your query to HCM .

It seems like the boil which you are having is quite severe one . You require an antibiotic probable Linezolid or Amoxyclav course for 5-7 days . But based on your description I think you may require a drainage of the boil as antibiotic may not work effectively if there is too much of pus .
Consult your Doctor now and get it drained.

I hope you have started doing Aerobic exercise and dieting for the management of Diabetes , because if you sugars are high these boils keep happening and will take longer time to heal .
