What Is The Treatment For Pain Below Rib Cage?
My wife has intense pain in her upper right abdomen, just below the rib cage. She can't take deep breaths. Bending over greatly intensifies the pain. If she lays/reclines into just the right position, it helps some. She has had gastric bypass surgery and is recently getting over the flu/ possible pneumonia.

actually pain at rt hypochondrium/ lower rt rib cage / central abdominal can be due to variety of reasons like gastritis , peptic ulcer , cholecystitis etc.
consult a general surgeon who can request for an usg abdomen to rule out certain causes
continue with the medications for pneumonia
