Hello
Thanks for posting at HCM.
Station medications are very beneficial in lowering cholesterol and also have a protective function on the heart.
They have a side effect of myopathy which causes pain and cramps in muscles which you are experiencing. Rousvas and atorva are drugs of station group. Rosuvas is a better drug than atorva which helps in decreasing bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol along with minimal side effects of leg cramps as compared to atorva. Hence your doctor has changed you to rosuvas from atorva.
As it is the dose of atorva or rosuvas you are taking is quite small. If you get leg cramps with rosuvas also, check your lipid profile. If it is normal, statins can be stopped and other cholesterol lowering medications can be tried.
Wishing you good health

Hi sometimes side effects seen with Atorvastatin may not be seen with Rosuvasatin.
Another option is to take Co-enzyme Q 10. along with the statin. It will take care of the muscle cramps.
