What Is The Treatment For High Blood Pressure?

My husband is on blood pressure medication and just a week ago had a stent placed to open a 90% blockage. His blood pressure is still high 164/100 and his ekg showed left branch bundle block. He is having mild chest pain on the right side.Should we go to the ER?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Chest pain in presence of an in situ stent and high blood pressure should prompt for recheck angiography to detect new thrombus formation in the stent.Elevated blood pressure should be reduced to below 130/80 mm of Hg pressure with the help of antihypertensive drugs.Drugs like adenosine will help to reduce the conduction disturbance. You need to visit your ER doctor at the earliest for prompt thrombolysis versus angioplasty.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
