What Is The Treatment For Heart Failure And Cardiomyopathy?

My husband has congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy with a recent ejection fraction of 20 or less. He has a bilateral ICD and is on extensive medications. This decrease in function appears to have worsened in the last three months. What would be his prognosis timeline? He is 71 years old and has battled this for about 13 years.

Sorry to say, the prognosis is rather bad – count down to several months…
If there are no associated morbidity, heart transplantation may be the option
The treating doctor alone could conclude better, based on the total clinical picture
