What Is The Treatment For Headache Caused After Having A Spinal Tap,and Is A Blood Patch Necessary?

I have experienced a dibilitating headache since Wednesday after having a spinal tap Monday. I started prednisone yesterday but have no relief if I'm not laying down. I can't miss another work day. Is a blood patch recommended to have done tomorrow? I am 23, 5'6" 120 lbs

Hi post spinal headache usually occurs due to csf leak.
It can be managed by adequate hydration and iv fluids to increase csf pressure and raising foot end of bed and strict bed rest for 24-48 hrs.
Mostly it responds to this.
If not relieved by this then blood patch is tried.
Thanks.
