I got hit in the top right side of my head with a basketball. I have bad headaches and I feel dizzy. The headaches are getting worse and I feel sick. I don t want to eat and all I want to do is sleep. I have pressure in my whole head. What does this mean? Is this bad? I know it s a concussion but how bad?
Hello, Your symptoms indicating towards a condition known as post- concussion syndrome which persist for 7-10 days after injury but may persist for months to even years. You should consult a neuro surgeon for physical examinations like simple muscle strength tests, tests for various movement and memory. He/ she may ask you for some investigations like CT scan and MRI of brain. Avoid taking alcohol/ smoking, stress level should be reduced to minimum through yoga and meditation, you can take pain killer for pain relief, antidepressant, antiemetic and cognitive behavioural therapy under your treating doctor guidance.
