What Is The Treatment For Hair Loss?

I am a 16 year old girl. I have been facing the problem of excessive hair loss since a year. By now I have lost 90% of my hair. I have been using many ayurvedic oils but the hair loss is increasing day-by-day. Could you please suggest me remedies for minimizing hair loss and regrowing?

Weight loss + Hairloss indicates some disease going on inside. See a physician and do some tests espcially thyroid fucntions tests.
There could be a deficiciecy as well, like iron defi causes hairloss.
You can try homoepathy, safely for hairloss.

Thank you doctor.
I had consulted doctors earlier but they had advised me to use different hair oils.
I tried those but the condition got worse.

Hairoils have nothing to do here. Growth - be it of hair or nail is from within the body. I strongly suggest you see a homoeopath for this.

Use of oil only in your case will not be enough. First i believe you are not consuming milk regularly. you will have to increase your immunity. I have seen very good results in a short span of time with Tab. Praval pishti BD with milk. Have rich diet with milk aamla and lots of fresh fruit and milk products.

The hair problems are related with many other things. These problems should be rectified first if any.Generally, deccoction of amruta+amla+nagarmotha is more benificial. You also take Simhanad guggule 2tab with this deccoction.Proper nadi treatment is required.

Hi
I too had hair loss for years- profuse and diffuse. After many tests i was found to be very anaemic and my ferritin levels (ferritin is an iron storage protein) were dangerously low. After taking high dose iron tablets for 6-12 months my hair loss finally slowed down and hair began regrowing. My trichologist has told me low ferritin levels are the number one cause of diffuse hair loss in young women- you must get a ferritin and Haemaglobin test and get iron tablets if you are low. Hair will not grow unless your ferritin is above 50
Hope this helps!

Hi!,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum,
In females the most common cause of hair loss is –iron deficiency, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problem, stress, lack of sleep, familial ,or use of chemical on scalp ,procedures like perming or straightening etc. Other rare causes are zn & copper def. One has to find the exact cause of hair loss and treat. In females there are various patterns of hair loss, which can be judged clinically by a dermatologist. You should get your hormonal level also checked along with an ultra sound if necessary to rule out PCOD.This usually seen in obese patient with irregular periods. Other simple test which we do are hair pull test and trichogram to diagnose which type of hair loss is there. Serum ferritin level is also important .After proper diagnosis you can start with topical preparations like Minoxidil 2%-5% applied twice daily on scalp along with tab biotin one daily.Other hormonal medicines are also available if needed. Improve your diet with green leafy veg, fresh fruits, plenty of water, sprouts ,pulses, high protein diet, avoid items with high sugar content like sweets & chocolates, less of Chinese foods, less of pizza & burgers ,more of milk & ghee, dry fruits . Good sleep also has a important role to play .
Take care,
Dr.Chawda

Please see a dermatologist. You seem to have "Chronic telogen effluvium" or "Female pattern hair loss". Get yourself evaluated at the earliest.

Hi,
more confusion having opinions of different Pathies,
One say our is the best and another tells our is the best.
I request you to ask all Pathis to give statistical data and evidences so that you can get some ideas for the treatment.
Certain pathys vaidaraj advice hair oils and after some time if not working they change the oils! and still not working gives some other way of treatment.
I read all above answers and found that the answer given by the dermatologist is proper and scientific.
Now you decide where to go.
ok and bye.
