What Is The Treatment For Fever And Blood In Stool?

A friend of mine is in terrible pain since I made him go to the E.R. room last Sunday. He admitted that he had blood in his stool for the last month and he has been throwing up large clots for about a week and half. I took one look at him and could tell by the color (or no color) of his skin he was losing blood fast. He also had a fever and lost about 10-12 lbs. The doctors kept him for just under 2 days and sent him home stating it was a Polyp. He has been home for 3 days and he is miserable. He stomach is so distended it looks like it may burst and he states painful. He cant go to the bathroom (either way) and his feet, ankles, and legs below the knee are swelling up terrible, I would say double in size. he received a Endocrine surgery and was sent home. Is it possible he has a blockage somewhere and this is causing Air to fill in his stomach but fluid to fill in his lower extremities. He has not bled out anywhere but the distention and fulid retention is causing him great pain. What else could it be, can he do anything else for comfort and should I take him to another E.R. for a second opinion. I am worried about him, he is looking pale again and is weak and great pain I dont believe its Polyps. What else should we b looking into or at or ask doctor if its?????????????? Thank you very much

Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your health issues submitted in your query.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query the reply of your query is-
Your current health issues seem to be due to -Bleeding Polyp of Colon with Colitis and accompanied anemia, hypo-proteinemia.
This is therefore more alarming condition and situation needs to be dealt by urgent Consultation with GI Surgeon and physician doctor .
Do's Suggested-
Blood Infusion
with Plasma / and albumin transfusion to recoup the lost blood and plasma.
Iron and folic acid treatment
Tab Zicovit 1 0d x 1 mth
Bland liquid-low salt / semisolid diet ligth diet for 2-3 weeks with gradual addition of proteins and fat and change to solid diet and fruits for fast recovery x 6-12 weeks.
Atibiotics for Colitis control

Therefore Cause of these complaints -like above needs to be ruled out.
Other causes-like discussed above , need to be verified. For this you need to consult attending GI Surgeon and Physician.

Thus You should consult attending GI Surgeon and Physician.
This would resolve the complaints of your's.

Constant follow-up with local family or specialist GI Surgeon and Physician. for long term would give you long remissions of such complaints in time to come, which would depend on meticulous follow-up treatment of your health concerns.
