What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea And Stomach Cramps?

Hi I started off with diarrhoea this morning as well as feeling sick. He diarrhoea past but the sickness turned into stomach cramps at first I thought it was because I was hungry but then I couldnt even eat half a sandwich and was heaving whilst trying to do so. I threw up what I had eaten about 5 minutes later. Then continued to throw up all throughout today. At first I threw up all the water I had drank and so I continued to drink water and then only bits of water followed later by throwing up all the water in my stomach sometime throughout the day I then started to get achy joints and an achy lower back which made me have to walk a little slower. Ive come home and slept for 2 hours and woken up feeling a little better if not very hungry, mild stomach cramps but still very achy. Especially around my lower back are. WHAT COULD THIS BE?. Thank you, jade

Hello, this appears to be a episode of viral Gastero-Enteritis(GE),this is a short self limiting disease which has nausea and vomiting accompanied by diarrhea and pain abdomen .Since the infection is a viral one, body aches and joint pains too may occur with fever which may or may not be there. It would be best to take liquids orally(like lemonade with a pinch of salt) and to avoid food till you are not queasy/having nausea.Onandestron tablet orally may help reduce the nausea and retching.Oral replacement of fluids and electrolytes may be done by using a ORS solution once the vomiting is controlled.A antispasmodic like Hyoscine will help with the stomach cramps. If the fever or diarrhea persists it would be best to consult your GP to rule out a bacterial infection.
