I have been diagnosed with dermatitis. Of some form. I itch so bad, then I scratch it and it gets worse. One dr gave me a cortisone shot. Not much help Urgent care dr gave me a Benadryl prescription, That helped the most. Then I could not get the dermatologist to give me the Benadryl What can I do?
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems it seems to be Contact Allergic Dermatitis which can be due to allergic reaction to some known or unknown allergen.. As the symptoms improved with benadryl that is an anti-allergic it further indicates towards allergic reaction.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and also advise you allergic tests to rule out for the exact cause of urticaria or itching.. You will be advised to take anti-histamines like benadryl or levocetrizine for relieveing the symptoms and in case of allergic reaction an Immunotherapy will be given to you to reduce the severity of allergic reaction..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
