What Is The Treatment For Cyst On Back?

I had a cyst on my back and it was drained (about 2 months ago) it has become inflamed again and painful.. I have cephalexin should I start taking it because I cannot get to see a Dr until Monday and I also was wondering if I should see my regular physician or a surgeon or dermatologist. It is the size of about a nickel and raised of the skin... The Dr that cut it open and drained it was an urgent care physician. Thank you for you thoughts and comments

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If it is currently painful, it is possible that it has been reinfected.

You can consider visiting a general surgeon who would be able to excise the cyst to prevent it from being reinfected in the future.
In addition to the antibiotics, you may need to use some anti inflammatory pain killers to help with the pain. Examples are ibuprofen, cataflam, aspirin.

I hope this helps
