What Is The Treatment For Constipation ?

my daughter is 8 month's.she has has a constipation issue since around 3 months of age.The doctors said that it was the baby premature milk because the iron so we changed to soy. She drinks plenty if fluids water and juice still no relief.
We have tried Kari syrup. Nothind has worked. She has to take a laxative or suppositorie to poop. even then its still very hard and painful. do I need to see a specialist or who specializes in this type of problems or what should I do*??
