Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist for your mother and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray.
Since she is not improving with drugs and having worsening cough, fever and chest pain , possibility of lung infection ( pneumonia ) is more.
Chest pain on coughing is characteristic feature of pleurisy ( inflammation of pleura ). And pneumonia is the commonest cause for pleurisy.
So better to rule out pneumonia first.
So chest x ray is needed for this.
She may need antibiotic drugs too.
So better to first diagnose herself and then start appropriate treatment.
