What Is The Treatment For Chest Congestion In 5 Month Old?

y 5 month old daughter who is growing well was suspected with chest congestion. when we got the x ray done to look for congestion, an enlarged heart shadow was observed ( she was crying a lot when we put her on x ray). she is feeding, growing and meeting her milestones well. we got detailed ecg and 2d echo done. while both were clear, the cardiologist conducting the echo mentioned that - a small closing PDA that was 99% closed was seen. he advised not to ever do anything about it at all and go back. i am afraid they are hiding something from us and that this might need further attention. on further reading we noted that this will require surgery or medicinal intervention. pls advise what we should do. i also noticed that the baby has some swear beads on her forehead while feeding. the exact terminology of the situation in 2 d echo report is as follows \" a small tiny colored turbulence is seen at the bifurcation of MPA (in parasternal short axis view) in the usual position of the aortic end of PDA in suprasternal view with low velocity continuous flow suggestive of small closing ductus?

Pediatrician 's  Response
patent ductus arteriosus is the diagnosis according to the echo report,i think u can wait for sometime for the congestion to get resolved, the PDA may also be resolving but if she again has a congestion in the next few months better to get a repeat echo done at that time or else no need to worry,u may just get a repeat echo screening after 6 months or so.
