General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of a 44 old female in excellent health, on Levothroxin 88 mcg and restarted Omeprazole 40 mg for indigestion and acid reflux, tinging and weakness of left arm and hand, bowel movements with blood in stool, wants to know the cause and treatment.
The various causes of blood in stool are:
Anal fissure. Hemorrhoids,
Rectal or colon polypi.
Cancer and so on.
Inflammation of the distal colon, rectum.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool, blood and urine tested.
Thyroid functions to be repeated and dosages of Levothyroxin to be altered if found abnormal.
Get started on an antibiotic if there is an evidence of an infection.
Continue Omeprazole 40 mg daily.
Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon and colonoscopy should be done to rule out any sinister cause.
The cause of tingling and weakness can be due to cervical problem, consult a Neurologist, get MRI of the cervical region to get the cause and get treated accordingly.
