Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was experiencing some moderate back pain this morning. After a back rub, I was feeling a bit better. Then I did some heavy lifting in the evening, and now I am in excruciating pain. My middle to lower back hurts so badly that it took my breath away when I tried to inhale. After I laid down, I was able to breathe normally again. I'm now having difficulty moving and I am unable to stand up at all.
Dear friend,a moderate back pain in the morning and then heavy weight lifting has caused your back muscles very much strained.that is why you are now feeling this excruciating pain.you must know that there is a soft pulp like structure in between our vertebra.in case of severe strain on the muscles attached with the vertebra ,this pulp like structure or intervertebral disc get dislodged causing irritaion of nerves which lies in between vertebra.this is called disc prolapse.if this happened then the only way to recover is taking complete bed rest.trying to stand or walk will cause severe pain like what you are feeling now.only lying down gives you relief.so take your rest and dont lift any weight to further damage your vertebral column and aggravate your pain.thank you.
