What Is The Treatment For Anxiety?

I was exposed to a rabid bat and already took the vaccine. But I was still worrying what if the nurse gave me the wrong injection..or what if the doctor gave me the wrong vaccine..such kind of thing. This growing thoughts have given me several times of panic attack and long-term anxiety. What should I do?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us,

If the anxiety is generalized, in all spheres of life, and is causing problems in your day to day activities then it is advisable you visit a psychiatrist. You will be evaluated in detail and if necessary prescribed medications. In addition you may also require psychotherapeutic intervention to alleviate your symptoms.

Hope this helps,
Dr A Rao
