What Is The Treatment For Tuberculosis And Lymph Nodes?

Hi Im 25 Years Old Female with Height: 5.1 Weight: 112.5 lbs. I have 3 lymph nodes on the left side of my neck I'm taking the medication for Tuberculosis from past 8 months and I still have one month to complete the course of medication. however I could still feel the lymphnodes on my neck. Can I stop the medication after 1 months (which would be 9 months of total medication) or should I continue until the lymphnodes are gone?

Hello, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. I had gone through all the data you have posted.
kindly let me know how diagnosis of tuberculosis was confirmed in your case.
generally for lymphnode tuberculosis we do FNAC or excision biopsy which may show granulomatous inflammation and AFB may be seen.

so if AFB were present at the time of diagnosis we need to repeat the biopsy from nodes to have a look again and if positive again we need to send for culture and sensitivity to rule out drug resistant tuberculosis.

if initial AFB was negative and ATT was started on suspicion, we need to evaluate general status and other system involvement and rule out other causes for lymphadenopathy which can present in simillar way such as SARCOIDOSIS etc..
