My 15 yr old son has a severe case of Keratosis Pilaris on his neck and chest. I have never seen it this bad. I have tried everything over the counter. His Pediatrician doesn t feel he needs to refer him to a dermatologist. Is there something else over the counter that may help?
Keratosis Pilaris is basically a disorder of skin keratinisation. It requires long term and regular treatment in most cases since it is a recurring disease . Not many over the counter agents are useful in this condition . It surely needs to be treated with certain specific agents which are prescription drugs . So try to see a dermatologist for assessment.
