My WBC is 12.4, my nertrophils are 8.5 & my monocytes are 1.0. I have had IBS for 25 years. My TSH is 5.740 & my doc wants to put me on thyroid med to see if it resolves these issues. Do you think this wait and see is ok, or do my numbers necessitate immediate attention?
Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having subclinical hypothyroidism. The treatment depends on many factors
Please check: 1. If you have thyroid swelling 2. If your thyroid antibodies are elevated 3. If you have high cholesterol 4. If you are planning for pregnancy
If you have any of the above you should be started on thyroid medications.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
