What Is The Suitable Dosage For Estrogen? Underwent Complete Hysterectomy

I am trying to find out the possible effects of taking to much estrogen. I have had a complete hysterectomy in 96. I was put on one mg dose . 6 yrs ago, different OBGYN took blood, said I was low and increased it to 2. I am 71. I have had Dr. advice a couple of times to cut back to half and try it . Is this a good idea, or not?
