Hello Dr, I am in chennai and undergoing treatment for inferitiliy for last 4 yrs with no success. I am planning to do IVF at AAkash fertility center. Iam 33 yrs old . I have poor spill due to infections in my tubes. Other than that i dont have any problem. My husband sperm count is normal. I would like to know the success rate for IVF at the first attempt and its complications. Thanks in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello madam
No medical treatment is entirely free from risk and infertility treatment is no exception.

1) Anesthesia complication > The risk of serious harm is very low 1 in 10,000 and is similar to that of other elective surgery.

2) Egg Collection > The ovaries are surrounded by important structures, including bowel, bladder, and major blood vessels. It is theoretically possible to puncture one of these structures although the likelihood is very low

3) Pelvic infection

4) multiple pregnancy and its complications

5) Ectopic pregnancy
6) Ovary hyperstimulation syndrome
7)higher risk of birth defect

SUCCESS RATE:
depends upon several factors
Generaly speaking , Birth rates resulting from a single cycle of IVF using women's own eggs are about 30% to 40% for women age 34 and younger, then rates decrease steadily after age 35

As far as success rate of ivf is concerned no one can give you the sure percentage.
Its depends on method, both s reports, culture of media and many more.
Ivf is 100% safe and there is no any complications of the procedure.
Hope u get success soon...
