Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms that you have mentioned are that of gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD).
GERD is characterized by reflux or regurgitation of acidic contents into the esophagus or food pipe.
This condition is investigated by upper gastrointestinal endoscopy which you have already had.
The results as you have mentioned has showed a red colored patch most probably in the lower end of the esophagus.
this condition is called reflux esophagities.
The anti-acid therapy which comprises of proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are the mainstay of treatment.
The therapy will prevent the reflux into the esophagus and give sufficient time to the esophagus to heal up.
The symptom will start disappearing only when the healing takes place.
You will have to continue the same treatment and also add life style modifying factors to it.
These factors include- reduction of weight especially central obesity, avoiding spicy & fatty foods, sleeping propped up using a pillow, keeping atleast 2 hours between dinner and sleeping.

Thanks and take care
