What Is The Solution For Osteoarthritis In Other Joints If Had Total Hip Replacement Surgery To Fix The Hip?
my wife recentely had total hip replacement surgery.......but the effect of osteoarthritis is there on all the joints....whether it in knee ankle or shoulder and vertebre joints....hips has been changed....now plz tell me either surgery is only option for another joints or it could be managed by medicines.........

the decision regarding surgery depends on the amount of damage in that particular joint and if it is worse{ loss of total joint space with lots of osteophyte(new bone formation)} and is weight bearing joint like knee, unfortunately at present replacement is the only answer.if damage is minor(weight bearing joint) and in non weight bearing joint like shoulder can be managed with medicine.
