What Is The Safest Method Of Abortion At 5th Week Of Pregnancy?

I am 30 year old and I am 5 weeks pregnant (First pregnancy). I am a known case of Ulcerative Colitis and this pregnancy had come in the time when it was not expected. I do not find myself physically fit for this and my husband is not financially ready for this responsibility, so we have decided to abort it. Wanted to know the safest method and cost.

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Please continue your treatment and diet plan of ulcerative colitis as it is autoimmune disease. First you have to go for USG to confirm intrauterine pregnancy and age of pregnancy. Medical termination of pregnancy should be done under the expert opinion and guidance of gynecologist. Drugs for abortion required gynecologist prescription.
Following are the methods for abortion up to 63 days of pregnancy: 1) Safe and effective option is mifepristone orally should be followed by misoprostol vaginally after 24-48 hour (Two tablet of 200 mcg), if no bleeding another two tablet should be put by gynecologist after 6 hour. Dose should be modified by gynecologist. 2) Misoprostol only: Misoprostol 800 mcg should be put vaginally every 3-12 hourly up to maximum three dose. 3) Surgical procedure: suction and evacuation.
Never take at home by self as it cause serious complication like excessive bleeding, severe cramp. incomplete abortion, ectopic pregnancy and abnormal development of fetus in failure, all this complication require surgical process to treat. For safe and best practice follow up USG is required to know the abortion process completeness.
Better to go for surgical procedure as you are suffering from ulcerative colitis because abortion pill can cause severe abdominal cramp, diarrhea, constipation which can aggravate the ulecrative colitis. But take the expert opinion of gynecologist with gastroenetrologist.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
