What Is The Role Of HCG Level In Determining Pregnancy?
I underwent IVF and got an embryo transferred on day two.
My HCG levels have been as follows:
Day 14 (after embryo transfer) 6.7
Day 16 7
Day 17 one day bleed
Day 22 120
Day 24 200
Day 26 360
Day 28 520
Day 29 – Intravaganal scan – nothing found in uterus/ tubes
Day 30 950
The nurse has told me that it is not ectopic then I will certainly have a miscarriage. Would appreciate your opinion as I have read so many different things about HCG levels.
Age 29, height 175 cm, weight 64 kg

HCG is the hormone secreted by developing placenta. In case of healthy pregnancy it doubles in 72 hours.
In your case it is not increasing in that proportion.
And if intra vaginal scan does not suggest any pregnancy in uterus or tubes, we can assure you that it is not ectopic pregnancy . It can be very early miscarriage or something like chemical pregnancy.
