Hallow Dear,
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex disorder in which there are multiple systems' dysfunctions: irregularity in menses, high insulin levels and high male hormone levels. This leads to many symptoms; hence syndrome.
The main symptoms include delayed heavy menses,
infertility, obesity, hair at unwanted places like face, chest, legs, abdomen, etc.. The infertility is due to failure to release the eggs from the ovary. All the matured and/or maturing eggs are getting entangled in the ovaries forming multiple small cysts; hence
Polycystic ovaries.
Yasmin tablets will be useful to induce your period; however, they will later not be of any use to induce the ovulation (egg release). To achieve this, comprehensive control of PCOS is necessary; i.e. addressing the issues of high insulin and high male hormone also.
Dimet contains
Metformin which controls the high insulin levels by increasing the tissue sensitivity for the insulin. It may help inducing the ovulation. However, now a days, in place of Metformin a new medicine called Myo Inocitol has is in use. It controls the levels of Insulin as well as male hormones. Its success in achieving ovulation has been claimed to be much better.
Use of
Clomiphene citrate is quite helpful for induction of ovulation. However, these tablets are not advised to be taken for more than 6 months. If Clomiphene does not work, HMG/hCG combination may be used for induction of ovulation. Use of some Oestrogen preparations also is useful for building up the lining of the uterus (endometrium) for
implantation of fertilized ovum.
Deposition of excess fat in the body, particularly around the waist is one of the factors responsible for PCOS, Therefore you must take active steps to reduce your weight. Please calculate your Body-Mass Index (BMI) first. You should maintain the BMI between 18 and 24.9. Along with diet control exercise is very important for this.
Your diet should contain plenty of Proteins and less of Carbohydrates and fats. The total caloric intake also should be reduced to about 1000 to 1500 calories/ day depending upon the original weight and the requirement of
weight loss. Stretching exercises in Gymnasium will help you control the weight. Along with, daily walk of about 40 minutes twice a day with the pace of 90 steps/minute will help controlling the levels of insulin.
Please manage your stress of getting pregnancy. Stress itself hampers control of Insulin. Instead start comprehensive management of PCOS. Now the medical science has done quite an advance research which can help PCOS individuals to conceive.
I hope this helps you. If so, you may cast a 'Helpful' vote for this answer.
