my daughter is in the ospital now..sahe was suffering dengue fever stage 1..what is the immediate remedy to increase her platelets?her platelets yesterday is 88 and her vital sign is 120/70 and her weight is 60lbs.she was 11 year old.pls help me doc...

Hi, first of all there is no need to panic. Platelet count above 20000 will cause no harm to the child. Secondly adequate liquid diet is more important in dengue fever. Usually, the platelet starts to increase as the child improves which usually occurs around 4-5 days of fever. I suggest you to give adequate liquid diet and daily platelet count monitoring of child.
