What Is The Remedy For The Sleeplessness And Quetiapine Is Not Helping Much?

Hi Dr. I have been using quetiapine for the past 9 years. Things were going well but 2 years a go I become an alcoholic. Now I stopped the alcohol and the quetiapine is no longer working as before. it does not make me tired and cant sleep. However, if I drink and take quetiapine then I can sleep. While I was drinking I would reduce the dose without telling my dr. in order to lower the effect. What should In do? What s going to happen If I can t sleep for days? thank you kindly. Paul

Hello paul

I would suggest you to take tablet ativan for sleep along with quetiapine. Quit alcohol completely as it disturbs sleep cycle on long term.

Avoid daytime naps.

Take warm water bath and warm milk at bedtime.

Thanks
