What Is The Remedy For Stuffy Nose With Fever In A Child ?

Hi I took my daughter to the doctor on Tuesday because she had bad case of the runny nose and bit of a fever. He gave two bottles of pain and fever syrup and saline drops. That night she got worse, went to the pharmacy and he gave me lorinase syrup. My worry is that she is still suffering with this stuffy, runny nose. She is Two years old, can you advise on a medication that will help. Thank you. Fiona

hi...
your daughter seems to be suffering from flu...which is mostly a viral infection...in children though this infection takes a longer course due to less immunity in them...however jus give ur child plenty of fluids to drink and and anti allergic syrup...give her saline nebulisation which will help in secretions from lungs to drain out with cough...an antibiotic is usually given to prevent any secondary condition...it will not affect the course of illness...in addition give your child some multi vitamin syrup to boost her immunity and keep her diet rich in nutrition...and the infection shall subside on its own...however if she develops a fever,,,,then u need to get a chest Xray and CBC to find out the root cause...only then antibiotic is prescribed..
hope ur child gets well soon

Hi welcome to H.C.M.Forum. running nose is a problem of infection or eosinofelia. infection is taken care of by antibiotic. eosinofelia is confirmed by blood test DC &AEC. if it is there proper drug should be given under the supervision of a pediatrician.
i advise you to take him to the pediatrician. don't worry every thing will be fine.
