Hello Doctors,My Father is having Parkinsons disease. His age is 72.He was taking pacitane daily. Two weeks before we consulted the doctor.Doctor told since his age is 70 plus ,Pacitane wont work.So he suggested to take Syndopa and stopped Pacitane. He informed that the Syndopa will slowly works and it will take 7 days to get active. Now he is telling 1 month to get active. My father is not able to swallow food.He is not able to walk.We again consulted Doctor that please go back to Pacitane and stop syndopa or Atleast take both.Doctor is not allowing to take pacitane.Shall my father can take both (pacitane & syndopa) because my father was better when he had Pacitane. What shall us do now? Thanks in Advance.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your father, looking to his age the disease he has, his doctor is right, after long term treatment drugs stop giving good results in such situation either the dose of drug need to be increased or multidrug therapy should be started, in my opinion in your father's case as long as Parkinson's disease is concern it is better to increase the does of "Pacitane" and add the new drug "Syndopa" he would surely get the good result, hope this information helps you bye
