What Is The Remedy For Burning Sensation In My Mouth When I Eat Spicy Food?

So I've noticed recently that sometimes while I'm eating certain foods, for instance spicy foods, I feel a burning sensation on the left side of my mouth underneath my tongue...as if there's a cut or something (nothing that I can see or feel with my finger...it seems like it's too far back maybe?). Tonight while eating some spicy chicken wings I started feeling the sensation. Almost immediately after, the lymph node directly underneath my jaw swelled up (left side only). It felt to be the size of a golf ball. It's been about two hours now and it seems to be less swollen. Do you think this was just caused by the irritation of whatever mouth sore I might have? Could this even be possible?
