What Is The Recovery Time For Labyrinthitis?

I was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis a week last Monday as I experienced a viscious sense of dizziness and fell at work and blacked out for a short while. I wasn t able to stand up,feeling wobbly and sickly. I have subsequently took four days off work resting and recuperating. I have chosen to go back to work tomorrow..I work as a Learning Mentor in a busy primary school. Do you think I have given myself time to recover? a

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The time to recover would vary from one person to the next, the time to go back to work varies according to how the individual is doing. In some persons the symptoms can last up to 6 weeks whereas others may only have symptoms for a few days. If you are feeling well enough to go back to work, then you can go back to work.

If however, you can still having symptoms, it would be best to stay home for at least another 3 to 4 days till you recover.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
