What Is The Recommendation For Reducing Weight?

Hello Doctor

This is the question related to my wife.

She is 46 years old, Type II diabetic.

Weight 103 kgs, height 5ft.3 in. Her BMI is >40. Living in Bangalore.

We are looking for some weight reduction programe.

One of the options informed to us was to go for Liposuction or Abdominoplasty for the sagging belly to go for Tummy tuck operation.

What is your recommendation?

hi
thanks for using healthcare magic

Diabetics can have an increased complication rate after surgery. Longer healing times and a higher infection can occur, but they are much more common in patients that don't have a tightly controlled blood glucose level. That is in addition to the other medical problems that uncontrolled diabetes can cause. Once her blood sugar is in control, she can have a great result with liposuction just like any other patient. In other option she can go for bariatric surgery. This surgery could help her to control her glucose level also. Out of two, i will recommend for bariatric surgery.

Good luck.
