What Is The Reason For Recurring Style In Lower Eyelid?

Hello Doctor, I have a repeating pattern of getting a stye in my lower eye lid, inner corner. Same eye every time. About a week after the stye heals, I always develop a throat infection which radiates into my ear, only on the same side of my throat as I had the stye. My tonsil is very swollen, I can feel it sitting on the back of my tongue and there is puss on it. Is there some sort of connection between the stye and my throat? It seems like there is and if so what sort of infection could cause this, viral or bacterial? Thank you for your help!

Welcome to HCM.
If you tend to have a recurrence of styes, you may need to practice better eyelid hygiene. That means regular lid scrubs to remove excess germs and dead skin cells, which bacteria feed on.
avoid contact of the eyelid with expired or contaminated cosmetics, dirty towels, or contaminated hands.
Frequent application of warm compresses at the first sign of an infection will speed resolution and prevent further blockage of the lid glands.
Apply neosporin eye ointment on it.
Recurrent styes may be associated with a chronic condition called blepharitis as well as acne rosacea.Consult ophthalmologist for better management.
Start complete course of proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulinic to subside associated infection of throat, ear.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
