What Is The Reason For Chest Tightness And Pain?
Three weeks ago i was sitting talking and got sudden tightness in my upper middle chest area and pain. I believe my breathing got faster. After 15 minutes, the symptoms susbided and went away. Then, it just happened again today. identical symptoms and after 15 minutes, it slowly subsided and went away. I am 54, five foot ten, 204 ilbs, no history of heart disease and haven,t smoked in 20 years

In your case any cardiac illness must be ruled out. Other possibilities include asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Get an ECG, chest xray, and a simple breathing test called spirometry done....
