What Is The Reason For Bleeding After Intercourse?

Hi I was just wondering if you can tell me why I bleed so much after having intercourse with my husband, I am sore as well. There was quite a bit of dark blood in the toilette and and pink fresh as I whipe. This happens all the time but tonight was the most blood I ever seen.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different possible causes for bleeding after intercourse such as: (1) infection

(2)cervical or uterine polyps- these are non cancerous outgrowths from the cervix or uterus

(3)vaginal atrophy- this occurs during the perimenopause and menopausal time. It causes vaginal dryness

(4)cervical dysplasia- this is changes in the cells of the cervix

A papsmear would be needed if you did not have one recently. In addition your doctor may also consider screening for any infections that could be contributing to your problem.

I hope this helps
