What Is The Reason For Abnormal Menstruation, Lower Back Pain, And Nausea?

For the last 3 months I have menstruated for 2 weeks, first week very light with dark brown - black, occasional clot like substance. This is then followed by 2nd week heavy, bright red clot like bleeding. I am then period free for 2 weeks and it starts over again. My last period ended 3 days ago. The day after I had really bad shooting pains in my lower back (right side) radiating round to my front. This has been intermittent ever since. I also feel nauseous at times. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with endometriosis, twisted ovaries which had been pulled over to the right along with my womb (caused by scar tissue from appendicectomy). I had a laparoscopy in which problems were treated. They also found cysts and scar tissue from old cysts. 9 months post surgery I got pregnant and had a healthy baby girl. I had no problems from then until 8 months ago when diagnosed with cervical errosion which I had laser treatment for. I have been to my GP who just took blood for testing and advised me to take ibruprofen. Pain has got worse. I work in a hospital and my colleague took urine sample - Leucocytes 2, PH 7-8, Hb 1, protein 1, Bil 1. Phoned Gp today, all he said was to take pain killers and provide sample for urine cultures on Monday (3 days away!) will then need to wait a week for results. I know this is quite lengthy, but I thought my medical history would be quite helpful. I am thinking possible UTI / kidney infection or ovarian cyst - possibly ruptured??? I am in pain and worried. Please advise. Thanks.

Diabetologist 's  Response
hi
i am sorry lady
but there is a long list of causes that can cause your symptoms

and ruling them out is a step by step procedure

the ideal thing would have been a physical examination
but since that is not possible
we switch to the next best thing- investigations

most of the causes can be found on an ultrasound
i would suggest u get a usg abdmon/pelvis
with a PAP smear
and let us know the reports

wont hurt to get a fbs and your bp checked before you respond

best of luck
