Hi
Thanks for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Progesterone helps make the lining of your uterus thicker, helping with good implantation and keeping the lining thick enough to support the growing embryo. Some pregnant women get bleeding due to deficiency of progesterone. In some cases the level of hormone will be so low that they can get a miscarriage. In all such cases a progesterone supplementation is recommended to save the pregnancy.
Let me know if you have any further query.
Have a nice day.

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Lupigest contains progesterone.
Progesterone is the hormone that supports the growing pregnancy.
It is given to women with high risk pregnancies.
If she has had prior abortions, or a risk of abortion in the current pregnancy, progesterone is indicated.
Symptoms could include pain in the lower abdomen, spotting or feeling of pressure in the pubic area.
Also, if there is advanced maternal age, or family history of abnormal babies or recurrent miscarriages, even then, progesterone is indicated.
In the absence of any risk factors in the pregnancy, there is no real indication for progesterone support.
However there are no major side effects of this drug.
You can safely take it in the first trimester.
All the best
Take care.
