What Is The Prognosis For Breast Cancer Stage 4 With Enlarged Arteries?

I have a sister with Stage 4 breast cancer. She has congestive heart failure as well. She has diabetes issues and is also extremely over weight (never lost weight through chemo and radiation). She was in the hospital for heart work today and they talked about a bypasss (why?) but said the arteies are clear although one side is extremely enlarged. There is a lot of fluid that they are now trying to control. Any way you can explain to me - 400 miles away what is going on? Are we near the end?

Oncologist, Surgical 's  Response
hi dear. your sister is suffering from 4 diseases which are related indirectly to influence final outcome. diabetes and obesity lead to heart problem which becomes difficult to treat in presence of cancer. chemotherapeutic drugs have cardiac side effects. but in such situation priority should be given to heart failure. first try to treat cardiac disease then treat cancer. discussion should be done with your cardiologist and oncologist.
