General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I will try to help you as much as I can.

If he survived surgery then this is a good sign However, necrotic pancreatitis is serious disease especially in alcoholic and long recovery is expected in next few weeks. Prognosis depends on his general condition, heart and lung function and you can hope for best if he is not in sepsis at this point. Chest fluids isnt good sign but it can be drained as well. I believe that doctors will do everything to safe his life.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you good health.
