What Is The Procedure Of Saline Injection For Frozen Shoulder?

I have had a suggestion to enquire about a saline injection for my ' almost frozen' shoulder..
Can you please tell me about this procedure?
I slipped on a wet tile floor which initiated the shoulder bursitis last Feb- Mar. I've had some physio, acupuncture & Thai massage! I've taken natural anti-inflams & am still taking turmeric daily. The pain is much less now but the actual movement is very limited. Not being able to swim is most frustrating!
I have also heard that the duration for natural repair for such is a period of 2 yrs. ..?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
As you are history suggest me that you are having frozen shoulder. It is an excruciatingly painful condition.
The condition is caused by inflammation in the shoulder joint as you fall down on your shoulder that has led to he present condition.
Most of the time when the treatment is offered, patients tend to be offered physiotherapy but there is very little evidence that this works for frozen shoulder.
Injecting saline water into the shoulder joint will be done under ultrasonography.
Local anesthetic and a steroid will be injected to calm down inflammation in the shoulder and then saline is injected to balloon out the joint.
The normal joint space holds 10 ml of fluid but a total of 40 ml of fluid is injected.
The excess water is then absorbed by the body over the next day.
Patients are allowed to go home immediately.
This procedure can be done in minor operating theater.
Hope you are satisfied with this answer, Consult your doctor for undergoing this procedure.
Thank you.
