What Is The Procedure Involved In Treating Occluded Leg?

My 40 yr old nephew has a familial history of cardiovascular disease-- his father had open heart surgery and his paternal grandfather died in his early 50s. This young man has peripheral vascular diseases in both lower extremeties and today the vascular surgeon could only put two stents in his right leg, because he found the left leg to be totally 100% occluded. He is suggesting that he be seen for further surgery for a graft to possibly bring circulation to that affected limb via the right or through collateral circulation. Please explain the procedure and what type of surgeon would be doing such a procedure---- to forestall possible amputation of that limb. Thanks Sue M at YYYY@YYYY

this is what we call a bypass surgery which bypass the occluded part by a bridge like way transferring blood from the area of well perfusion to the area deprivrd from perfusion by using a vein or synthetic graft .it is to be done by vascular surgeon
