What Is The Procedure For Fistula Correction Surgery?

I am 55 yr. old male. I am white, and in good general health. I developed an anal fistula within the past year and a half. I received outpatient surgery today to have this corrected. The surgeon however stated that the canal for the fistula was longer, and deep into my anal wall, so she stopped. I will need to have this corrected by a colorectal surgeon.
My question is just how this procedure is done, and the recoup time from the surgery.
Thank you.

Hi,
Fistula contains few sinus tracks opening into anal canal giving rise to some problem in surgery.
Even one sinus left to open, there is risk of having fistula again.
So your surgeon will open up all sinuses and cleaned them.
consult your surgeon and get it operated.
Ok and take care.
