What Is The Probability Of Getting Deep Vein Thrombosis Again?

I have been detected deep vein thrombosis in my left leg. I took medical treatment and I have been taking acitrom tablets regularly by checking INR. The reason for deep vein thrombosis is due to deficiency in protein s. At the time of taking protein s deficiency , I was taking deplatt75 mg. Now my INR level is 1.02 , Now doctor advised me to take ecospring 75 mg . Please tell me about the probability of clotting happening again.

Hi, I have understood you have Protein S deficiency. I have not understood whether you are presently on Acitrom and Ecosprin or only one medicine? Given the history of Protein S deficiency, you should take Acitrom for atleast 6 months and then switch over to Ecosprin 75mg life long. Some clinicians advice life long Acitrom for patients with such protein deficiencies but it also increases the risk of bleeding and therefore we settle with prescribing Ecosprin which does not have similar complications. Please calrify the above. I would advice six months of Acitrom after the attack of DVT and then converting to Ecosprin life long. Take care,
